Weekend Wondering - Read-a-thon edition - 4/10

Okay - we are in the midst of Dewey's Read-a-Thon as I post this and since I first participated last fall, this is something I really look forward to.  A day for reading.  Do I think I will make it 24-hours.  Nope, not at all - I have church on Sunday morning and have kids so that is next to impossible.  Will I enjoy the 12 hours or so that I do read - yes - every minute.

The weather is nice, my son's t-ball game was canceled (something I am saddened by - I was ready for his first game) and even though my oldest son has a friend over, I still plan on reading the day away.

So I want your thoughts.  Would you enjoy doing something like a read-a-thon?  Are you doing the read-a-thon?  Do you think we are all crazy?  Tell me what you think of read-a-thons.  Just a yes I love them or no I would never do one is fine - or you can explain.  I just love to hear your thoughts.

Tell me what you think and be entered to choose a book from my giveaway shelf which is here and may change over the weekend (I'll add books).  This one is open to international and will end on 4/16.  I'll announce the winner next weekend.

Here's a sampling from my giveaway shelf and you can see it in it's entirety here:

Hey Crystal! So I signed up for the read-a-thon because I LOVE them! However, I had a late night last night doing homework so slept in late this a.m. and now I'm getting ready to leave for my friends of the library sale. But I will be back and will officially start reading and I will continue reading until tomorrow at the same time! I'm a little disappointed, but these things happen. So, in answer to your question...I love read-a-thons and I do not think that anyone is crazy for participating! Happy reading!

I've never participated in a readathon before--but I am joining in on the 24-hour readathon today. :) I haven't gotten a lot of reading done so far, but hopefully this afternoon it'll pick up.

I do like them. They just always fall at the just the wrong times for me to fully participate. I wish everyone luck though in their goals for this one.

I like the readathons though its not for me. I also like to see what people have read and enjoy reading their reviews. We all get insights into whatever people are reading and there is such a huge range out there that very often we get the very best. I dont think its crazy at all for anyone to join/participate and enjoy these reading sessions. More happy reading to all.

I like read-a-thons, although I never do them. I like reading all the the blogger reviews on the books that they read. Everyone sounds verrrrrry tired at the end. A lot of fun.

I have not been in a read-a-thon but I would probably enjoy it if I can find the time. My life is in such a mixed up mess now just reading one book presents a problem.
I think anyone who does enter the read-a-thon are brave to undertake such a task.
