Jennifer Chance is
back with another novel that'll keep you hooked.
Anna Richardson
meets the baddest (and sexiest) of bad boys in FAKE IT, the second novel
in Jennifer Chance's sizzling Rule
Breakers series, out on July 1, 2014 from Random House. This one is not to
be missed, especially if you're looking for a bad boy fix!
My Review:
I really enjoyed Rock It, the first book in the Rule Breakers series so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Fake It. As much as I enjoyed Rock It, I really think Anna and Jake make Fake It an amazing and fun read.
Anna is very uptight and trying to make her way in her job. But she has a wedding to attend and a fake boyfriend she has been going on and on for months about to keep her ex-boyfriend at bay and her best friend, the bride from setting her up with any number of men. So it's getting crunch time and Anna still does not have a man to be her fake boyfriend. She's clubbing and her friends are trying to help, but then neighborhood hottie Jake steps in.
What could be better, a hot willing man who she's already attracted to wants to be her fake boyfriend? Well that fake boyfriend could want to be more. Of course some hilarity ensues as it should. Anna doesn't think she's his type. Jake wants the relationship to be more, Anna wants it to be more. The ex-boyfriend is a jerk and wants her back. Her friend, the bride, just wants her happy. There is conflict and heat and just a great read.
The characters are great. I understand Anna. Jake is hot and even though he's a bad boy on the outside he's really a good man. I was pulling for them through the book and really loved getting to know them and watch them fall for each other. The plotting was great, never a lull or anything that I couldn't believe in. Good girl and bad boy works again as a great plot and this is another great book in the series.
Haven't had your fill of bad boys for the summer yet? And really who ever could? Fake It is a great summer or anytime read full of interesting characters and a fun plot. So grab it now!
My Rating: 4.5/5.0

About FAKE IT:
As her sizzling new series continues, Jennifer Chance
sparks some serious combustion between a sexy biker and a corporate go-getter
who’s ready to let her hair down.
New grad Anna Richardson works hard—so hard that she’s given up having a romantic life. Anna has even convinced her friends that she’s dating an amazing guy—who they’ve simply never met. But now Anna has a wedding to attend and needs to produce the hottie she’s been lying about for the past six months. Enter Jake Flynn, her infuriating, motorcycle-riding, jaw-droppingly gorgeous neighbor, who’s more than willing to fake it for a weekend. In fact, Jake won’t be satisfied until things get real.
Though Jake is only playing the role of adoring boyfriend, he’s starting to feel the heat, and judging by Anna’s sweet blush, so is she. Letting chemistry this intense go to waste would be a real shame. Soon, though, the thin line between fantasy and reality fades. Jake may not be what every buttoned-up fast-tracker wants, but he’s sure as hell what Anna needs. And if she takes a ride with him, their adventure never has to end.
