Book Review and Tour: Hearing From God Each Morning: 365 Daily Devotions by Joyce Meyer

Hearing From God Each Morning: 365 Daily Devotions by Joyce Meyer

Publisher: Faithwords
Publish Date: January 8, 2010
Pages: 384
Binding: Small hardcover
I received this book from Valerie Russo at Faithwords a division of Hachette Books for a blog tour during January.

My Thoughts so far:
I have started this as my official devotional for this year.  So far I have enjoyed each day.  These are standard devotionals as there is a Bible verse, then a discussion of what the Bible verse means in our everyday life and then a final thought or prayer at the end.  I have enjoyed the ones I have read so far.  They have been uplifting and helpful for each day and I look forward to reading one each morning.

The book is also the perfect size to use for a devotional - perfect to put in your purse and use on a break during the day or have it by your chair first thing in the morning to peruse with your coffee and morning prayer.  I highly recommend this book as a great devotional for this new year.

About the Book:
In the hustle and bustle of today's busy world, sometimes it's hard enough to hear yourself think, much less take a minute to stop and listen for the voice of God. But learning to recognize God's voice and the many ways in which He speaks is vital for following His plan. This devotional; drawing from How to Hear From God, Knowing God Intimately, and The Power Of Simple Prayer shows the reader through a daily reminder, how God speaks through their own thoughts and feelings, their dreams, and the words of other people.

Teaser Tuesday - January 5

teasertuesdays31

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Most school scandals are a nine-day wonder, gaped at and then forgotten because the person gets expelled.  But this . . . it was more like a nine-month wonder.
From The Chic Shall Inherit The Earth by Shelley Adina

I'm just starting the book, so this is intriguing to me.
