My Review:

Heavenly is an absolutely amazing book. I have read three of Ms. Laurens' books now and I can definitely see where she is growing as a writer.

Heavenly looks at a relationship between a guardian angel of sorts, Matthias, who looks over Zoe's autistic little sister. But Zoe can see him which is unusual. Most of the time the guardians are unseen. Zoe's friendship with Matthias grows and he understands her and she understands him. He also sheds light on her little sister who Zoe has started to regret because so much attention has to go to her and there is little left for her parents' to give Zoe and her brother.

So of course with little attention both Zoe and her brother are engaging in risky behaviors, at least until Matthias steps in.

The characters of Zoe and Matthias are fascinating. You can see underneath Zoe's exterior that she really wants to do what is right and she begins to grow and change. Matthias is such a guiding force and a steady force that I wish we all had someone like him in our lives to help us see the good and help guide us to do what is right.

The relationships are captivating. I could not put this book down. I had to know what would go on next and how things would work out between Matthias and Zoe.

I think I ran through the gamut of emotions in this book and loved it all. Ms. Laurens kept me entertained and made me think which is one thing that makes me truly love a book.  One last thing - this book honestly surprised me - I did not see where this was going and that was great.  I look forward to the next book in this series, Penitence .

About the Book:

I met someone who changed everything. Matthias. My autistic sister's guardian angel. Honest. Inspiring. Funny. Hot. And immortal. That was the problem. What could I do? I did what any other girl would do-I fell in love with him. Zoe's sister darts in front of cars. Her brother's a pothead. Her parents are so overwhelmed; they don't see Zoe lost in her broken life. Zoe escapes the only way she knows how: partying. Matthias, a guardian sent from Heaven, watches over Zoe's autistic sister. After Zoe is convinced he's legit, angel and lost girl come together in a love that changes destiny. But Heaven on Earth can't last forever.
