Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon is an adult romantic comedy that is on sale on Amazon for only $0.99 until November 30th. Hollie Porter Builds a Raft, the second book, is now available for sale as well. It's a great time to start the series! To celebrate the sale we're also giving away a $25 Amazon gift card & audiobook CD of Must Love Otters

Book Title: Must Love Otters
Author: Eliza Gordon
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Recommended Age: 17+
Release date: Oct. 29th, 2013

About the Book:
Hollie Porter is the chairwoman of Generation Disillusioned: at twenty-five years old, she’s saddled with a job she hates, a boyfriend who’s all wrong for her, and a vexing inability to say no. She’s already near her breaking point, so when one caller too many kicks the bucket during Hollie’s 911 shift, she cashes in the Sweethearts’ Spa & Stay gift certificate from her dad and heads to Revelation Cove, British Columbia. One caveat: she’s going solo. Any sweethearts will have to be found on site.

Hollie hopes to find her beloved otters in the wilds of the Great White North, but instead she’s providing comic relief for staff and guests alike. Even Concierge Ryan, a former NHL star with bad knees and broken dreams, can’t stop her from stumbling from one (mis)adventure to another. Just when Hollie starts to think that a change of venue doesn’t mean a change in circumstances, the island works its charm and she starts to think she might have found the rejuvenation she so desperately desires. But then an uninvited guest crashes the party, forcing her to step out of the discomfort zone where she dwells and save the day … and maybe even herself in the process.

Hollie Porter Builds a Raft is now available for sale!

raft (noun): when two or more otters rest together,

often holding hands, so they don’t drift apart

Hollie Porter has put her old gig as a 911 operator and sad single girl in an attic-bound box, right where it belongs. She’s rebounded nicely from her run-in with Chloe the Cougar in the wilds of British Columbia, and this new life alongside concierge-in-shining-armor Ryan Fielding? Way more fun. After relocating to Ryan’s posh resort at Revelation Cove, Hollie embarks on an all-new adventure as the Cove’s wildlife experience educator, teaching guests and their kids about otters and orca and cougars, oh my.

When darling Ryan gets down on one NHL-damaged knee and pops the question of a lifetime, Hollie realizes this is where the real adventure begins. It’s all cake tasting, flower choosing, and dress fittings until a long-lost family member shows up at the Cove and threatens to hijack her shiny new life, forcing Hollie to redefine what family means to her. What is she willing to sacrifice to have one of her very own?

As Ryan’s words echo in her head—“Our raft, our rules”—Hollie has to face facts: a raft isn’t always tied together with blood and genetics. Sometimes it’s secured by love and loyalty… and occasional help from the clever creatures that call Revelation Cove home.

Book Promo and Excerpt: Her Rocky Mountain Guardian by Margery Scott

Her Rocky Mountain Guardian by Margery Scott
Publisher: Entangled Ignite
Publish Date: Oct. 28, 2013
ebook, 250 pages
ISBN: 9781622662029

About the Book:
An unforgivable disappearance… Four years ago, Jennie Brooks and Sheriff Brae Colton were engaged to be married—then Jennie disappeared without a word.

Leads to a mysterious reunion… Brae hated Jennie for deserting him just as they were set to begin their life together. But when he finds her badly injured in a hit and run accident on a snowy mountain road, he can’t deny the love he’s never forgotten—until she regains consciousness with no memory of her identity, or what they once shared.

Where love holds the key to everything… Brae wants to know why Jennie’s come home. Despite everything, she’s still the woman he fell in love with in high school—the woman he’s falling for again. But when the bullets start flying, his first priority is to protect her and catch her would-be killer. And if they can’t find a way to restore her memory soon, they may both end up dead.

About the Author:
Born in the Scottish lowlands, Margery now lives on a lake in Canada A late bloomer, she didn't start writing until she found herself with an empty nest, some free time, and an old standard typewriter her father found somewhere she'd rather not think about. She still has the empty nest, but the typewriter has been replaced by a computer and free time is a thing of the past. Margery writes all across the genre board as the muse and the mood hit her, but these days she tends to stick to either historical romance or romantic suspense. When she's not writing or traveling in search of the perfect setting for her next novel, you can usually find her wielding a pair of knitting needles or a pool cue. Margery loves to hear from her readers. You can reach her at margeryscott@gmail.com and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.

Excerpt:

Jennie gazed out the passenger window as Brae steered the SUV through downtown Eagle Ridge. Ever since they'd left the hospital, he'd been tense, his eyes constantly shifting and taking in the vehicles around them.
"Do you think we're being followed?" she asked finally.
"Probably not, but I don't want any surprises."
She stayed silent then, letting him concentrate. A lock of hair hung over his forehead, and she had an almost irresistible urge to brush it back. The muscles in his face were tense, his lips pressed into a thin line.
Those lips… Her thoughts strayed back to the kiss they'd shared in her hospital room.
Obviously they'd kissed before, and more than likely they'd done a lot more than kiss. She didn't remember those kisses, though. His kiss from a half hour earlier, she'd never forget. Something about the way he held her, the way his mouth slanted over hers, the heat pooling in her belly when his tongue had touched hers…it felt so familiar, so right.
"You look like you're thinking hard," he said, his baritone voice filling the interior of the car.
She felt her cheeks heat. If he only knew where her thoughts had taken her.
            "Remembering something?"
Oh, yes. She remembered every detail of the kiss they'd just shared. Although she would like to know whether the memories of his kisses back then were as exciting and breath-stealing as the reality of the one they'd just shared. She doubted that was what he was asking, though.

Book Promo & Author Interview: Even Villains Go to the Movies by Liana Brooks

Today is the second of several spotlights featuring authors and books from publisher Breathless Press. I think these books deserve a definite look and I thank each of the authors for participating in an interview. I hope you enjoy this visiting with Liana Brooks and the feature on her book Even Villians Go to the Movies. So check out the interview, check out the book and leave a comment for Liana too!

Interview with Liana Brooks:

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Every where! Anytime I think I’ve found the perfect place I see somewhere new I want to visit. We have such a beautiful planet, I’d like to see most of it before I die (Mount Everest is not on the list – it’s too cold!).

What's the first sentence of EVEN VILLAINS GO TO THE MOVIES?

New York is everything I hoped it would be.

Tell us what EVEN VILLAINS GO TO THE MOVIES is all about.

It’s about Angela, the oldest daughter of Doctor Charm and Zephyr Girl. She’s been raised in a superhero family but she feels it would be too easy to abuse her power and make people obey her, so she decides to become a civilian and teach math. She really does love that job, she loves teaching, she loves hanging out with the teens, but it doesn’t work out and she winds up going on the run. To make some money under the table she agrees to work as a motorcycle stunt rider in a movie. That’s where she meets Tyler Running Fox and Jacob Kapsimolis, two very hunky men who each attract Angela’s attention in their own way.

But Arktos is the one who steals her heart. He’s the superhero of L.A.; a masked man who rushes to her rescue, trades Shakesperean retorts, and sweeps her off her feet.

Angela knows that Arktos is either Jacob or Tyler, and she knows the villain trying to burn her alive is the other one. Someone is lying to her. Someone is threatening her. And if she makes the wrong choice, it’s going to be her last choice.

Dish, who’s your favorite character?

Don’t hate me, but I love a minor character the most. I always do! I get so attached to the minor characters. In this book, Aaron is the one I love best. He’s Arktos’s younger brother, a teenage boy raised by his grandmother and now by his older superhero brother, he’s confused and frustrated and still a good kid, he just needs a lot of love. I see a lot of my younger self in Aaron, he’s in the shadow of a hero and just needs to be loved.

What book would Angela have on her nightstand?

I suspect she has THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE, PERSUASSION by Jane Austen, and a calculus textbook on her nightstand. Angela is a closet romantic, she believes in love even though she doesn’t recognize it right away.

What one book that turned you on to reading?

THE HOBBIT, the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, and FARMER GILES OF HAM all by J.R.R. Tolkien . I am pedigree Geek. Some children had parents who read GOODNIGHT MOON to them, but I graduated straight from THE SNEECHES by Dr. Suess to Tolkien. I remember taking my hardcover copy of THE HOBBIT to show-and-tell in Kindergarten. I love that world. I love what Tolkien created and the power those stories still have over me. With every book I read, that’s what I’m looking for. I’m looking for a soul-consuming forever love, to be completely immersed in another world. Books are my drug, and I will never quit them.

Blurb:

Choosing between good and evil has never been this much fun.

When your mother is America's Superhero Sweetheart and your daddy's the Number One Super Villain, you grow up feeling a little conflicted.

Angela Smith has superpowers—nothing that will ever make her comic-book famous—but her ability to psychically sense and manipulate the emotions of people around her has drawn unwanted government attention. Forced to choose between her quiet life as a teacher under constant surveillance or the life of a rogue, she chooses the latter. She plans to hide out in sunny Los Angeles where being a blue-eyed blonde won't make anyone bat a false eyelash.

Silver screen star by day, superhero by night, Arktos is a triple-threat. He can fly, freeze anything, and see glimpses of the future, all of which he needs to keep the city of Los Angeles safe, but which does nothing for his social life. When a frightening vision of an explosion leads him to rescue a damsel in distress, he finds himself trading Shakespearean insults with a rogue.

Angela knows just how dangerous well-intentioned superheroes can be: one tried to kill her family when she was young. Arktos knows he should hand the rogue over to Company justice; it's not safe for someone like her to be in the middle of a fight.

But they can't seem to stay apart. And together, they just might be able to melt all the obstacles standing between true love for a hero and a villain.

Book Promo & Author Interview with Kelliea Ashley (Enemy Mine)

Today I begin the first of several spotlights featuring authors and books from publisher Breathless Press. I think these books deserve a definite look and I thank each of the authors for participating in an interview. I hope you enjoy this first one with Kelliea (love the name) Ashley featuring her book Enemy Mine. So check out the interview, check out the book and leave a comment for Kelliea too!

Interview with Kelliea Ashley:

What 3 things do you need in order to write?
Three things I need to write: my laptop, my index cards to keep track of details, and my lap warmer named Copperkitty.

When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?
I was twelve years old. I was sitting in the lounge of the small extension of Mater Dei College. My mother was taking college courses and she didn't have childcare for me. I was a quiet bookworm, so the staff didn't mind me waiting for her. To keep myself busy I started jotting down a small children's story about a trouble seeking kitten. Once I started writing, I didn't stop.

Tell us what Enemy Mine is all about
Enemy Mine is a Paranormal Romance about a Romeo and Juliet type of couple. Rissa is a Witch and Travis, her love interest is a Guardian of the Light, a sworn enemy of anyone who wields magic. He seeks her out intending to use her to infiltrate her Coven, but soon finds himself tempted by her beauty and sweet nature.

Dish, who’s your favorite character?
My favorite character in Enemy Mine is Rissa's familiar. Theophyline is a fire cracker. She has attitude and isn't afraid to say what's on her kitty mind.

What would you say is Rissa's most prized possession?
Her most prized possession before Travis came into her life was Theophyline, but after she loses her, his amulet becomes priceless to her.
For all of us impatient readers, what is up next for you?
I am currently in edit on a Christmas release for Breathless Press. I have also entered the Nanowrimo contest. I've been asked repeatedly to write a romance about the secondary characters from my very first release, Winter Gifts. I hope to have Spring's Promise finished at the end of November. Cross your fingers for me.
Describe yourself in 140 characters or less.
I'm a woman who isn't afraid to try new things. I've held an eclectic array of jobs from nurses aid to a DJ to a dairy farmer. I'm goal oriented and anal about deadlines. I love writing and to see my name attached to an e-book is a dream come true. I have a very supportive family and friends standing behind me in everything I do. My husband and my furbabies are the most important things in my life, so writing is the icing on my cake.
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t writing?
I really enjoy spending time with my husband. Josh is a fun person to be around and he knows how to make me laugh when I need it most.

Blurb:

She never expected to feel an undeniable attraction for Travis Holt, but one touch on a moonlit night is all she needs to know she belongs in his arms.

Travis has carried a gut-deep hatred for all Witches since the deaths of his parents. He joined the Guardians of the Light in order to annihilate their evil and cleanse the earth of their blood. He sought out the Witch with subterfuge and treachery on his mind, but after he's tasted her lips will he be able to take her life when the opportunity presents itself?

Excerpt:
His solid shoulders flexed beneath her hands, sending a jolt of physical awareness through Rissa that she didn't fully understand. She found herself caught in his dark eyes, as if she might drowned in the sweet depths of his soul. He was stronger than she'd given him credit for. She'd taunted him as a means of pushing him to reveal his true self and his plan to destroy her. She hadn't counted on him being bold enough to take her teasing as a challenge to his manhood. There was no doubt about his virile prowess with the hard length of manhood pressing against her lower belly. Rissa swallowed a moan as a tingling sensation preceded a delicious throbbing between her legs.

Holt's masculine grin sent a shiver down her spine in a mixed reaction of fear and excitement. She'd come to the mountains to escape her future, and the Goddess, in her divine wisdom, was throwing a strong vibrant male in her path. She wondered if he was the answer to her prayers or the end of her torment. Life or death, the path would be something she would not regret later.

"The tempting vixen is suddenly without words?" Small lines crinkled at the corners of his eyes as he stared down at her. Rissa found him devastatingly handsome, and though he was also disgustingly arrogant, his quit-witted repartee and blatant sexuality made him impossible to dismiss. A ride with this man would definitely be all kinds of hot, sweaty fun, leaving him worlds away from her intended groom. Her heart nearly broke as she could almost see the invisible binds of her family's expectations wrapping around her, binding her to a life that would surely leave her an empty shell of misery. They wanted her to marry for breeding and bloodlines, but it went against every dream she carried with her of finding the other half of her soul.

Rissa experimentally moved her hands down over his warm shoulders, her eyes watching her hands as her palms smoothed over hard muscles and rough skin to land on his firm chest. Beneath her left palm his heart beat a quick, fierce rhythm of life. Her fingers trembled as she stared at her hands resting on his naked flesh. He was real, he was a promise of rebirth, and he may be her enemy, but Travis Holt's caress touched her down deep in her soul, where she had always followed. Slowly, she raised her head, her eyes locking with his. She felt the strings attempting to bind them together and chose her path with a heavy breath.

"Do I tempt you, Mr. Holt?" His eyes dilated as his hands clenched on her trim waist. "Be tempted. Kiss me." She demanded with a confidence that built within her as his heart hammered against her palm in an accelerated beat.

"I don't think that would be wise. I don't even know your name." His jaw clenched as her nails lightly scored his chest.

"I am Rissa Jennings." She whispered as she reached up to thrust her hand in his hair to pull him down to her. Their lips brushed lightly, a testing kiss that had her blood singing through her veins with a magical call that she could not ignore.

Enemy Mine is available at Breathless Press, Amazon, Bookstrand, and Allromancee-books.
