Well . . . the first thing that comes to mind is that song from The Sound of Music (you know...that one song about raindrops on roses?), but maybe Tennyson’s poem The Lady of Shalott? Or maybe rain on the roof? No . . . I think my most favorite thing is just waking up and knowing my family is safe and warm and still sleeping in their beds.

Calder White lives in the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior, the only brother in a family of murderous mermaids. To survive, Calder and his sisters prey on humans, killing them to absorb their energy. But this summer the underwater clan targets Jason Hancock out of pure revenge.
