I was at my wonderful local library yesterday picking up my reserved copy of Blue Moon by Alyson Noel. I finished Evermore last week and couldn't wait to get my copy of Blue Moon. While there, the girl who was checking my books out told me she really didn't know what to think about The Immortals series. I told her I read the first one and loved it and she confessed as she read the series she went back and forth on her thoughts about it and after the latest one she really just didn't know how she felt. This gave me the idea of this post and if popular enough maybe a weekly or bi-weekly series discussing various series books out there.
Now I trust her opinion, she is a very sweet girl and actually closer to the YA age group than I am. She helps the children's librarian and my 9-year-old adores her. What she said got me thinking - I think I remember hearing mixed views about the series all over the internet.
So have you read the series and what did you think? Try to keep the spoilers away and don't bash the author, but you can be honest - did you love the series, is there one or two books that just didn't do it for you? Are you still reading the series? I'm just curious - I'm still going to read the series and form my own opinions, but the comments made by this sweet girl just got me wondering.
For those of you unfamiliar with the series here are the books. I have read Evermore and loved it, review will be coming later this week and I should start Blue Moon in the next week or so.
Note: Night Star comes out November 16, 2010.
To sweeten the deal and generate some discussion, let me know what you think and you'll be entered for a book of your choice under $15 at the Book Depository, so that means if Book Depository has free shipping to your country - you are welcome to enter! Simply let me know your opinion on this series and if you haven't read it, are you interested in reading it. Giveaway ends 8/18. No extra entries for this one, but I always appreciate tweets and blog mentions. :)

I am a huge fan of the series! I love Alyson Noel's writing style and each book is always packed with suspense. They really are page turners!
I did a series spotlight on the first few books here

I reviewed the most recent Dark Flame here

I haven't read this series because I've heard so many different opinions on it and I'm not sure if I'd like them. Some people love them but some don't. I'll probably borrow them from a friend because if there's a possibility that I wont like them then I don't want to waste my money.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I haven't read this series and because of the mixed reviews out there have been hesitant to give it a try.

I haven't read any of them yet. I have read some good reviews for Evermore and it sounds like a book I would enjoy. After hearing some people's negative opinions of the series, I think I would go to the library to read them instead of paying for any of them, though.

I actually won Evermore from you in your 1st blogoversary giveaway. I haven't read it yet, but I've been wanting to. I've heard mostly good things about the series.

I absolutely LOVED the first book in the series, Evermore. But I hated Blue Moon. I own Shadowland, but I can't bring myself to read it because I'm afraid of being disappointed.
So, for me, it's a hit-and-miss series.

I actually loved Evermore and recommended it to several people. The rest of the series though just keeps getting worse and worse. I just am the type of person that has to finish things, so I keep forcing myself to read through them. I just feel like nothing is getting resolved in the later books.
I was look for something to read some i stop in the borders and went to the If you read this you might like This. I pick up the book and bought it. I took it to work for something to read on my hour break. well before i even read i just started write now i am working on my own book. I don't i am not good with my sentences but once i read it i could not put it down. I have read every book and just one the next one that just came out.
I have not read this series yet, but it looks great! I am definitely going to have to put it on my TBR list!

I was a big fan of the series after reading the first book. I loved evermore and blue moon especially. but i was very disappointed in the last two books in the series. even with the disappointment of the latest book, i think i will still continue reading the series because i'm still interesting in reading more about ever and damen and their love story

I'm going to be honest, I don't love this series. I read book one and felt disappointed, but book 2 is actually better. I haven't read the rest of them because I think there are other books I'd like more, but maybe someday I will read them.
I think if you love books as Hush Hush or Fallen, you should read this one.

I've only read the very first one, Evermore, when I won it from MacMillan Audio on Twitter. Hehe. I don't know, though. I'd have to say that I had mixed feelings about it, too. On one hand, I really liked it in this surfacey giggly-romantic way. On the other hand, the writing was off. It somehow didn't suit the whole paranormal thing. That's probably just me...I don't know. But I'm actually excited for Blue Moon. It's on my shelf...:D
Oh and thanks for the giveaway! It would be cool to get the next one in the series :D

I did read the first book of this series, and didn't love it, sorry. It wasn't terrible - if I saw a copy of the second book at my library or a friend's place I might pick it up and have a browse or a read - but I certainly wouldn't buy the second book.
It just seemed a bit cliched to me, and I'm so sick of the hero who is the heroine's one true destiny and vice versa.
The heroine was gutsy, and I liked her sister, but the hero annoyed me and the storyline and premise I just found irritating.
I did like that the conflict was somewhat resolved at the end of the book, so while there's good potential for further conflict, people like me can just read the first book and not "need" to read the next one. Standalone = good. :)

I haven't read this series, but Evermore has been on my to-be-read list for awhile. I'm anxious to read your review, maybe it will help push it closer to the top.
