I saw this meme at The Undercover Book Lover (Not Really) and thought like she did that it looked like fun. I like reading about how other read, organize, etc. So here are my answers.
Do you snack while you read? If so, favourite reading
snack:
Chocolate - Ghirardelli 60% Dark and their Dark Chocolate with mint filling. I do this at night before bed, otherwise I really don't snack.
What is your favourite drink while reading?
Sleepytime Tea by Celestial Seasonings - that's part of my evening ritual as well. During the day it's Diet Mountain Dew.
Do you tend to mark your books as you read,
or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
I don't write in books, I keep a small notebook handy if I want to note something.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark?
Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
If I'm just going away briefly, I will lay it flat (without creasing the spine if I can), but usually I use a bookmark which can be anything from a real bookmark to a receipt.
Fiction,
non-fiction, or both?
Fiction - some non-fiction is okay, but mainly fiction.
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or
can you stop anywhere?
Stop anywhere - prefer the end of a chapter, but after you drop your book in your face three times when reading before bed, it's really time to put the book down no matter where you are.
Are you the
type of person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author
irritates you?
I don't throw it - I usually walk away for a little bit and try to come back to it later. Maybe after taking a valium ;)
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and
look it up right away?
If I'm reading on my Kindle, yes because it's easy. If I'm reading a print book - nope just try and figure it out - I'm too lazy to go look it up.
What are you
currently reading?
Indivisible by Kristen Heitzmann
Think Twice by Lisa Scottoline (audio)
What is the last book
you bought?
Pre-ordered Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon for my Kindle (I love Nick)
Are you the type of person that reads one book at a
time, or can you read more than one?
I read two or three at a time - an audio, a print book and a Kindle book. Sometimes more, but they have to be different enough so I don't confuse them.
Do you have a favourite time/place to
read?
Our new adirondak chair set in the backyard. Second favorite is my chair in the corner of our living room.
Do you prefer series books or stand
alones?
Both - no real preference
Is there a specific book or author you find yourself
recommending over and over?
The Gallagher series by JP O'Donnell (Fatal Gamble and Deadly Codes), Shadow Hills by Anastasia Hopcus, Scream by Mike Dellosso, anything by Travis Thrasher
How do you
organize your books? (by genre, title, author's last name,
etc.)
Order in which they must be read for review mostly now. I also do my actual tbr pile of purchased books usually by genre. I want to do genre and then author in alphabetical order, but I just have too many books to do that.
