Read-a-Thon Conclusion

My concluding Stats:

I read from 8am until about 11pm and I gave it up.  I knew I wouldn't make it the whole time. I think for the fall I will arrange child care and plan on doing the whole thing.

My favorite thing - my new chairs DH got me for outdoors - it is so comfortable and I love having the little table in between the chairs.

End-of-event meme:

1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
I would say around 4pm when I just wanted to fall asleep.  I almost gave up really early.

2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
A Most Improper Magick by Stephanie Burgiss was great as was White Cat by Holly Black - they kept me engaged.

3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
Nope - I think it is great!

4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
The hosts did a great job - I enjoyed reading the hourly posts.  Also thanks goes out to the cheerleaders and the mini-challenge hosts.

5. How many books did you read?
2

6. What were the names of the books you read?
A Most Improper Magick by Stephanie Burgiss and White Cat by Holly Black

7. Which book did you enjoy most?
It's a toss-up but I liked the more carefree tale of A Most Improper Magick best, but the darkness of White Cat was a great foil.

8. Which did you enjoy least?
I enjoyed both books.

9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
not a cheerleader

10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next
time?
I will definitely be participating again in the fall - except hopefully that time without a house full of kids and husband :)  I will be a reader again unless we are busy most of the weekend and then I will be a cheerleader for what time I can be.
